After 12-Steps

“I’ve completed 12-steps…now what?” Whatever the motivations for working a12-steps program, many people wonder what to do when they complete the 12 steps. [haven’t had their spiritual awakening] How long can you go without a relapse? A few days? A few weeks or months? How about a few years? While regularly attending meetings and actively working with a sponsor and sponsoring others may all be helpful, many people find that there is more to living a meaningful life than a 12-step program. I can help you discover this meaning and give you the tools to work through that internal dialog and focus on where you’re going, not where you’ve been.

No 12-Steps

“12 Steps isn’t for me.” The 12-step program has helped many people on their path to recovery yet it is not for everyone. I also work with clients who choose not to engage in the 12 steps. I assist my clients in finding new ways to live in meaningful sobriety. My services include activities that support community, structure, and self-analysis.

During 12-Steps

“I’m just getting started in 12 steps” If you have already begun 12-steps, work with me to ensure that your chance of success is maximized, you have a much better chance of attaining your goals, and you gain access to a vast array of tools I will teach you to live a more fulfilling life.

In addition to regular meeting attendance and working the steps with your sponsor, it is often important to explore factors that keep you in addictive thinking and behavior (“Stink’n Think’n”). For example, conflicted relationships or lack of direction in life. Successful recovery will require having a positive direction in life, not just staying sober.
